Avonite Antique Glass with Concealed Support

The main design feature of this project was also the main structural challenge, a vanity that could be fully illuminated without a shadow from the internal structure. This was complicated by the nature of the material and structural demands of the hinges and support of vanity itself.

The solution we were able to provide used a recessed frame work and the sink itself to support the vanity, combined with floating hinge mounts that helped minimize shadow in the corners. The X Ray effect is created as objects inside or on top of the vanity interact with light passing through it.
